AUTHOR’S NOTE: I’ve tinkered further with my “French-Cross Twist” spread to align it with employment situations. Here is a “real-life” example reading.
After concentrating and shuffling, the first six cards are to be dealt in the order shown, with Card #5 placed beneath Card #2. The seventh card is the “numerical essence” (“quintessence” in the Tarot de Marseille universe) roll-up that is calculated via Theosophical addition and reduction from the face values of the other cards.

The question I asked was “What are this man’s employment/career advancement prospects over the next six months?”

Preliminary Observations:
There are really no “terrible” cards here. The worst one is the Ace of Spades in the “Adaptive Attitudes” position, but it may just be cautioning against an excessively fatalistic or self-defeating posture. Two Aces typically mean “changes in the two areas of life represented by the suits,” which in this case would be “Business, work and practical matters” (Clubs) and a miscellany of negative conditions (Spades) for which any change would most likely be for the better. Although two Threes are described as having religious overtones (which doesn’t really apply here), the fact that they are both red denotes “expansion” and Diamonds followed by Hearts is said to bring “rewards, positive attraction, or sharing money.” Perhaps trusting in one’s luck would be “mystical” enough for this scenario.
Card #1: Opening(s) to Exploit:
The number Three suggests that three likely job openings will arise for which he is qualified. The 3 of Diamonds is saying that initial compensation will be less than he was hoping for, but that perseverance will further success (although it may be only part-time or partially gratifying at first). Demonstration of commitment will promote financial growth.
Card #2: Adaptive Behaviors
The Ace of Clubs indicates that he must position himself to undertake a new enterprise or venture that may be outside of his prior experience. Focus, direction and singleness of purpose must be cultivated.
Card #3: Challenge(s) to Overcome:
The difficulty for this individual over the past few months has been to get past the ubiquitous AI pre-screening barrier so a job application will be seen by a human being. The benevolent King of Hearts here could mean that an approachable hiring manager or a sympathetic employment climate will emerge in one of the openings that will mitigate the impersonal harshness of the current process. Perhaps a senior “white knight” will appear to rescue the individual from bureaucratic limbo.
Card #4: Catalysts/Deterrents
The Jack of Clubs provides unmistakable evidence that younger candidates with the “right stuff” are getting the nod from the AI overseers to the detriment of older applicants. It seems that the algorithms are “tuned” that way. The only way to surmount this built-in obstacle is to “finesse” one’s resume or application to downplay age, but it hasn’t worked to date.
Card #5: Adaptive Attitudes
The Ace of Spades speaks to “death of the old” (which has already happened) and “birth of the new.” Together with the Ace of Clubs, it betokens being prepared for a transformation or major life-change. The two Aces appear to be sitting squarely at the crossroads of impending developments, and the Ace of Spades implies an important decision that will advance the agenda.
Card #6: Adjusted Target of Opportunity
Taking into consideration the testimony of the five previous cards, the 3 of Hearts conveys the triumph of creative talent, artistic ability (the man is an experienced digital artist looking to further his career that field) and related achievements. Further meanings are “a small celebration; a job promotion,” the latter of which intimates that his current part-time contract work could become more permanent.
Card #7: External Factors (Quintessence)
Theosophical manipulation gave me “Five” (3+1+13+11+1+3=32; 3+2=5), a number of potentially-profound “change.” I arrived at the 5 of Diamonds by removing the Fives from the deck, thoroughly shuffling them, and picking the top card to place here.
While the number Five in general means “Expect the unexpected. Chaos is coming, but it’s meant to shake you out of your rut. Don’t fight the change, pivot/turn with it,” the 5 of Diamond carries presentiments of physical experience “mirroring” or manifesting constructive thoughts (the “power of positive thinking” in its modern guise of the “law of attraction”), which strikes me as an antidote to the inherent pessimism of the Ace of Spades. Furthermore, if given a chance to talk to a human recruiter, the man may be able to leverage the 5 of Diamonds’ connotation of charismatic “speech” and offer a persuasive argument for why he should be hired. There is also the promise of “unexpected news” that may auger “business success after overcoming present obstacles.” The “External Factor” here is the hostile environment created by AI intervention in what was once a self-promotion opportunity and the way things are going it presents a formidable hurdle.
