This was too juicy an opportunity not to try out on myself, so here is a test reading for the "My Tarot Persona" spread. I used the Thoth deck for the esoteric line and the CBD (Conver Ben-Dov) Tarot de Marseille for the exoteric line. A “Tough Love” Example Reading
This reading was performed on a hypothetical romantic relationship by applying my "Relationship Crisis Spread." I used the Thoth deck, with reversals; this spread does not require a Significator card. I also calculated the two optional "quintessence" cards to show how that is intended to work. The relationship in question was between a man and … Continue reading A “Tough Love” Example Reading
Where Is Celia? – A Missing-Person Reading
UPDATE: It has been reported that Celia was found "safe in New York." There was no detail regarding where she was found, how she got there or whether she was aided in any way. This has the earmarks of an "assisted runaway" scenario, but we will probably never know. Case closed for now. Fifteen-year-old Celia … Continue reading Where Is Celia? – A Missing-Person Reading
Another Missing Tyler
Sixteen-year-old Tyler Christensen went missing from the Edmonds, Washington area on April 19, 2016 and hasn't been heard from in over two years. I decided to subject this cold case to my "Train to Nowhere" missing-person spread. I used the Thoth deck and chose the Princess/Page/ Knave of Wands as Significator based on his youth … Continue reading Another Missing Tyler
Where Is Tyler? – A Missing Person Reading
UPDATE: The missing sailor was found unharmed in another State. As I expected, this comes from the news agencies: "No other details about Tyler's circumstances were released." A young sailor has gone missing from Groton, CT after having left home on his Honda motorcycle last Tuesday. http://www.wmur.com/article/silver-alert-issued-for-missing-new-england-navy-sailor/19860623 Although I haven't been getting much satisfaction out … Continue reading Where Is Tyler? – A Missing Person Reading
Wait For The Ricochet
There is a 1970s hard-rock song by Deep Purple called Child in Time, replete with Ian Gillan's visceral moans and screams (remember "Primal Scream Therapy?"), with a verse that has me thinking about "outcome" cards. "Sweet child in time You'll see the line The line that's drawn between Good and bad See the blind man … Continue reading Wait For The Ricochet
Where Is Patrick? – A Missing-Person Spread
This is the kind of "cold-case" situation I've decided to concentrate on. This young New Hampshire college student went missing in 1987, possibly in connection with a drug deal. http://www.wmur.com/article/new-hampshire-unsolved-case-file-disappearance-of-patrick-merrill/19673486. I used my "Train To Nowhere" missing-person spread and the Tarot of Dreams, with reversals. I chose the Page of Swords as the Significator, https://parsifalswheeldivination.wordpress.com/2017/07/31/the-train-to-nowhere-missing-persons-spread/ … Continue reading Where Is Patrick? – A Missing-Person Spread
A “Chaldean Mirror” Example Reading
I decided to test my "Chaldean Mirror" spread with a weekly rather than a daily focus. I found out Monday that I did in fact break a rib last week, so I wanted to explore what the upcoming week looks like for my physical condition. I used the Liber T, Tarot of Stars Eternal for … Continue reading A “Chaldean Mirror” Example Reading
A “Tarot and Trauma” Vignette
Early last week while working on a construction project at home, I fell off a 4-foot step-stool while dismounting with tools in my hand when it tipped on the carpet. I landed on my feet and was immediately thrown off-balance (hold that thought, it's significant here), briskly back-pedaling my way into the corner of a … Continue reading A “Tarot and Trauma” Vignette
A Romantic Interlude Sample Reading
I was asked to write up a sample reading for this spread to show how it is to be approached, and chose this real-life scenario. I used the Golden Universal Tarot for the querent's line and the RWS Centennial Edition for the love interest's "moving lines." The querent is a young professional man and the … Continue reading A Romantic Interlude Sample Reading
