What Happened to Ashley? – A “World of Hurt” Missing-Person Follow-up Reading*

*I’m doubling-up on today’s posts because this is a time-critical situation that I don’t want to get by me.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: As promised, here is a follow-up reading that adds detail to the prediction I did on Monday regarding the missing-person case of Ashley Turcotte. This spread is intended to show an individual’s mode of disappearance, current state of well-being and likelihood of being found.

The first step is to decide which rank of court cards applies to the missing person. In this case, since Ashley is a mature female, I chose the Queens. The court cards are separated from the deck, shuffled, and dealt from top-to-bottom into five positions addressing the mode of disappearance and related consequences. The first card of the appropriate rank to show up is essentially a “marker” to identify the applicable mode and has no other significance in the reading.

Here, the Queen of Wands appeared in the second row of the spread. The description of this row is “Taken: Coaxed, coerced or captured (Lured away, kidnapped or jailed).” This reiterates the impression from the first reading that she was taken somewhere against her will.

The second step is to remove the 40 minor cards from the deck, shuffle them, and deal two more cards to the right of the first card. The middle one is intended to show whether the individual is most likely still alive, while the right-hand one displays the projected time-frame for discovery and the general condition of the person at that time.

In this case, the first of the minor cards was the 7 of Pentacles, which is one of the “No-leaning” cards shown in the table attached to the spread; it carries the connotations of “Failure” or “Success Unfulfilled.” (See the link below.) The second card of the set (5 of Wands) is also a “No-leaning” card, and using the supplemental guidance for “card strength” in the spread guidance, it appears that the “No” answer is reinforced by this negative pairing. Prospects do not look good for survival. Using intuitive free-association from the picture, this version of the 7 of Pentacles suggests a location somewhere “in the country.”

The second card was the 5 of Wands, which as a measure of timing indicates “five units of time;” given that Wands signifies the shortest duration of all the suits, this could mean possible discovery within five days of the date of this reading, and at most no more than five weeks out. The first assumption speaks favorably of a relatively high chance for survival, while the second one erodes that confidence.

As a reflection of her state of physical well-being, the single-keyword meaning for the 5 of Wands is “Strife,” and the image of five battling staves suggests “blunt-force trauma” that could be symbolic of “being beaten-up.” A more intuitive take on this card implies that it will take a search party vigorously “beating the bushes” in order to find her. The 5 of Wands has similarities to the Ace of Wands that ended the last reading on an aggressive note. The implication of both readings is that there was some kind of “ill will” toward her, and she innocently walked head-on into it.
