AUTHOR’S NOTE: Although I seldom use the Lenormand cards for any kind of psycho-spiritual exploration since they are better-suited to practical matters, I was asked to come up with a personality-focused spread that can be performed in conjunction with “body work.” I already have a layout that was designed around the Celtic mind/body/spirit version of the “triskelion” but it is too complex for this purpose, so I decided to start fresh.
Interpretation of this spread is best approached from the “outside-in,” with two central cards displaying a binary “inner-and-outer persona” that receives input from the four peripheral cards. The series should be dealt in the order shown. (Fans of both Pythagorean and Qabalistic number theory will recognize the basis for this.)
The position meanings are mostly self-explanatory, with a horizontal emphasis on mental and emotional self-awareness and a vertical division for spiritual and physical qualities. (All images are from the Old Style Lenormand, copyright of US Games Systems Inc, Stamford, CT.)

In this short example reading I asked “What is my Lenormand persona?” I explained it by placing abbreviated comments at each of the positions, although in practice I would offer a thorough analysis. In a nutshell, it describes my persona as being upbeat (Child+Stars), with the spirit and body elements creating gravity (Bear) and momentum (Stork) while the private-and-public-mind factors are more volatile (Scythe+Birds). Although simplistic and casual in tone, it comes close to the mark in essence.

Thanks! I enjoyed the spread. I wouldn’t think about it by myself.
