A Timing Prediction with Tarot, Dominoes and Pendulum

AUTHOR’S NOTE: An acquaintance of mine who is pregnant and due to deliver on or about July 30 asked me to do a reading to predict whether the baby will arrive on-time. I decided to pose the question three ways: will the event occur within one week, two weeks or three weeks on either side of the due date?

I used tarot cards for the three possibilities, and also to show the circumstances of the birth: dominoes in denominations of One, Two and Three (two of each for increased randomness); a pendulum to determine whether one scenario is more likely than the others; and a random pull of the tiles to see it the pendulum’s answer can be confirmed. I used the Chrysalis Tarot without reversals for this reading.

I shuffled the cards and dealt three of them face-down from left-to-right into the array shown below. Then I set up a face-down “dial” pattern of dominoes for the pendulum reading.

The swinging pendulum oscillated between One and Three but didn’t give a decisive verdict, so I mixed the dominoes and did a random pull. It came up a “one-spot.” Taking the two steps together, the pendulum reading could be interpreted as an “in-between” forecast that is closer to one week than three.

The card in the ~1 Week position was “The Dreamer,” Knight of Mirrors (Knight of Cups). Since this pack reads more like an oracle than a tarot deck, I took the key meanings from the LWB (“little white book”) that came with it: “a mystical experience; boundless energy; hopefulness; dreams achieved.” I believe this bodes well for an uneventful and uplifting experience within a week, one way or the other, of the expected arrival. Since the biological gender is already known, I’m not going to say “a boy-child.” Maybe it’s showing the joyful reaction of the father?
